For over 150 years, the Minnesota State Academies (MSA) has provided educational services to Deaf, Hard of Hearing, DeafBlind and blind/visually impaired students ranging in age from birth to 21, from all regions of the state. As a state agency under the Executive Branch, MSA is composed of two schools: the Minnesota State Academy for the Deaf (MSAD) and the Minnesota State Academy for the Blind (MSAB). All of our students meet special education criteria and have Individual Education Programs (IEPs). Our teachers are licensed by the Minnesota Department of Education, and our staff are professionals who have additional training and skills to serve our student population. About Faribault

Our Campuses

The MSAD and MSAB campuses are located in the community of Faribault, Minnesota, only 40 minutes south of the Minneapolis/St. Paul metropolitan area. Our campuses have a mixture of historical and modern buildings, and are designed with our students' individual needs in mind. MSAD and MSAB are only a mile apart, and both campuses often share resources and facilities. The small-town environment and family atmosphere help students, parents, and staff feel safe and welcome.

Found along Interstate 35 in Rice County, Faribault is a historic town with plenty of offerings: downtown shopping, great eats, parks, trails, lakes, and annual quality festivals and parades.
