Performing Arts

Opportunities in the Performing Arts
Our students participate in a variety of programs that highlight their individual and collective talents, including:
-
Drama – Students work collaboratively to rehearse, design, and perform plays and skits, gaining experience both on stage and behind the scenes.
-
ASL Performances – Students showcase storytelling and poetry through expressive sign language, celebrating Deaf culture and creativity.
Featured Production: The Polar Express
Last fall, our 6th–12th grade students presented a memorable performance of The Polar Express. This production brought together students from across grade levels to share the magic of the story through ASL and visual storytelling. The event highlighted our students’ talent, teamwork, and commitment to bringing literature to life through the performing arts.
Why Performing Arts Matter
Participation in performing arts builds confidence, creativity, and communication skills. It also fosters collaboration, cultural appreciation, and a sense of pride as students share their work with families, peers, and the community.
At the Minnesota State Academies, we believe every student has a story to tell—and the performing arts give them the stage to share it.
